
About Shari
Shari Morash is a pioneering author, educator, public speaker and parent advisor in perinatal palliative care. Her newborn son, Josiah, died the day he was born. His brief and meaningful life changed her world.
Josiah’s Journey was founded in 2009 and has since donated more than $180,000 to date to the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto, and Children’s Hospital, London, Ontario.
Shari’s book, Loving Your Baby… A Gentle and Practical Guide to Parenting Through Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Infant Death is designed to help parents and professionals navigate the first moments of a serious diagnosis to the events surrounding a baby’s death. It validates the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of parents and their baby when loss tragically comes at the beginning of life. The National Association of Neonatal Nurses recommends Shari’s book to every NICU library.
Shari is a proud developer and contributing writer to Canada’s first Paediatric Palliative Care webspace, CaringTogether.life with Canadian Virtual Hospice – the world’s most comprehensive online portal for information and support on advanced illness, palliative care, and grief.
Shari is an accomplished public speaker providing keynote presentations at medical conferences and charity fundraisers.
Shari lends her warmth and expertise as a Parent Advisor to the Paediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) at SickKids Hospital. Shari is a Bereavement Ontario Network (BON) member and a previous committee member of the international Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance (PLIDA).
Shari holds a BIS degree from the University of Waterloo focused on perinatal and paediatric palliative care and grief after a traumatic loss.
Together with her husband and two daughters, Shari lives in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

Josiah’s Story
Josiah Morash lived just one day, yet his legacy continues to leave a lasting impression on the lives of others.
Josiah died the day he was born from complications due to a rare genetic disorder known as Trisomy 13 or Patau’s syndrome.
Josiah lived a lifetime in just one day.
Josiah’s Journey is an organization founded in memory of baby Josiah Morash. Today, we honour Josiah’s memory by providing valuable resources and compassionate support to families who facing a serious diagnosis for their baby.
Josiah’s Journey has donated more than $180,000 to date, supporting the acquisition of critical care medical equipment, research, and education in perinatal and paediatric palliative care at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto and Children’s Hospital, London.
Josiah’s legacy lives on by providing care and compassion to thousands of families as they make sense of the unknown.
